) my drawing for my project of a monumental sculpture in homage to
Mondrian and Malevich. Inside a tall building large kinetic neon
sculptures of Mondrian and Malevich are projected upon the glass
windows. I made the drawing in New York City last year (2009). It is
related to an art work I made of young Mondrian gazing through
multi-coloured stripes on a window. The drawing was included in the
exhibition "Strip/Stripes" curated by Joao Simoes at the Emily Harvey
Foundation in New York City last year.
2) a black and white
photo of my sculpture entitled "Homonculus, 1", together with the text
of a letter I wrote on 1 March 2020 to Adam Nankervis. This small
sculpture is part of a new series of art works in many media (drawings,
paintings, collegaes, sculptures, installations and performances) which
are collectively entitled "Angels and Homonculi". They are my homages
to the alchemists of East and West and to the Illuminati of Past,
Present and Future. Like many of my previous art works, such as the
first bubble machine and the first 'Stitch in Time', I start a new
series with a small object. This is true in the case of "Angels and
Homonculi" and the monumental neon sculptures in homage to Mondrian and
Malevich.

Estimados, quien les escribe es Gonzalo Rabanal y junto con saludarlos les doy las gracias a los muchos amigos que nos han llamado, escrito, para saber de nosotros después de la enorme cataclismo que nos ha tocado vivir. Decirles que en Santiago la situación esta controlada y que solo los hermanos del sur (región del Maule y Bio-bio) viven la desolación, la incertidumbre y el caos, producto de las muchas razones que no vale la pena profundizar.

Frente a este escenario puedo decir que vivimos el duelo y esa conmoción de desazón emocional y espiritual pasará en la medida que todo retorne a la calma. Porque la destrucción de esta tragedia ha dejado a muchos separados y fracturados con la realidad familiar, este duelo nos ha despojado de los sueños e interrumpe nuestro futuro. Lo que era, ya no es más. Lo que concebíamos ayer, hoy ya no se sustenta. Nos ha cambiado la vida irremediablemente. Mientras el mundo avanza, el propio se ha detenido y venido a bajo. El tiempo no adelanta.

Finalmente decirles que esta experiencia es una prueba más de coraje y de fuerza del espíritu humano y nos recuerda la inestabilidad de la vida. Pudimos perder muchas cosas, se nos vinieron abajo muchos sueños, se nos cayeron nuestras casas, pero no se nos han caído nuestros brazos. Seguiremos adelante!!!

Invito a todos los amigos, artistas y performistas a sumarse a esta campaña y colaborar con esta cruzada de ayuda para los miles de Chilenos que lo han perdido todo después de esta terrible tragedia.

Dear Friends:

Thank you very much to all of you who have either called or written us to know about our situation after the enormous cataclism ( giant earthquake) we lived here in Chile. In Santiago the situation is almost controlled but in the regions at the south of Santiago, our brothers from Maule’s region and Bio Bio’s region are still suffering the effects of this devastation: they live desolation, uncertainty and chaos. They are with no food, no water, no power, no medicines, no hospitals because were collapsed. etc.

Against this background I can say that we are experiencing the grief and the shock of emotional and spiritual distress that will extend until everything return to calm. Because the destruction of this tragedy has left many separated from their loveones and fractured with their family’s reality. This mourning has stripped us of our future dreams and interrupts our future’s plans, just suddenly. What is was is no longer, is not anymore. What we conceived yesterday today is not supported. Our lives have changed irreparably , while the rest of the world progresses, our has been arrested and gone down. Finally I want to say that this experience is further proof of courage and strength of human spirit and reminds us the fragility of life.

We could lose a lot of material things, we came down many dreams, we dropped our houses, but we have not dropped our arms.

We will go ahead!! …. with the high spirit in the face of adversity. I invite all friends, artists and performers to join us in this campaign and working with this crusade to help the thousands of Chileans who have lost everything after this terrible tragedy. Efforts are well underway to support the recovery in Chile from this earthquake. Some of these are directed to regional man power needs.

DONACIONES EN ESPECIES:
Se necesitan alimentos no perecibles (arroz, azúcar, aceite…), líquidos (agua embotellada, leche), productos de higiene (cepillos de dientes, toallas higiénicas, pañales), ropa y calzado de abrigo en buen estado. En algunos lugares también se reciben frazadas, colchones, sacos de dormir y medicamentos NO VENCIDOS. Por favor revisa qué es lo que se recibe en cada lugar pues no todos los locales aceptan todo.
-Iglesias – Nacional: Se recibirán sólo alimentos no perecibles (arroz, fideos, leche en polvo, aceite), no vestuario ni medicamentos, en todas las parroquias del país desde las 12 hrs. Para buscar la más cercana, http://www.iglesia.cl/parroquias/index.php.
-Hogar de Cristo – Nacional: Piden frazadas, pañales, leche en polvo y alimentos no perecibles. Desde mañana lunes 1º a las 12:00 hrs. pueden dejarse en todas las sedes del Hogar de Cristo del país y en Santiago se reciben en el Colegio San Ignacio El Bosque (Pocuro 2801, Providencia) y en el Hogar de Cristo ubicado en Gral. -FECH – Santiago: La Federación de estudiantes de la Universidad de Chile (FECH), estará recibiendo alimentos no perecibles, vestuario y calzado de invierno, artículos de aseo personal, colchones y ropa de cama. -SOS PUC – Santiago: La Federación de Estudiantes de la PUC recibirá alimentos no perecibles, productos de higiene y pañales, ropa, y agua potable envasada en sus campus de San Joaquín y Lo Contador desde el 1 de Marzo hasta el Viernes 5, de 09:00 a 21:00 hrs.
-UDD – Santiago, Oriente: Colecta de ropa, frazadas, calzado y comida no perecibles en la Universidad del Desarrollo de San Carlos de Apoquindo (Avenida La Plaza 680, Las Condes). La ayuda se recibirá del 1 al 5 de Marzo desde las 10 am hasta las 8 pm.
-Municipalidad de Vitacura: Av. Bicentenario 3800. Se reciben alimentos no perecibles, pañales, leche en polvo, medicamentos, ropa de abrigo, frazadas y colchones además de materiales construcción, linterna y pilas.
-Grupo “Ayuda para Llico” – Santiago, Oriente: Un grupo de universitarios está organizando por Facebook una recolección de especies para entregar en el sector de Llico, Iloca y Duao, afectados por un enorme Tsunami.

-Greenpeace – Santiago: Recibimos un aviso oficial de que el aviso de recepción de especies para Juan Fernández que anda dando vueltas por internet NO ES REAL. Por favor avisar a todos sus conocidos para evitar que se siga esta entrega de ayuda ilegítima.
-Iquique: La municipalidad de Iquique estará recibiendo ayuda en el Estdio Viejo frente a Cavancha por Avenida Prat y recibirá pañales, leche, alimentos no perecibles, líquidos (agua y leche), y frazadas. Para más información llamar al 057514736.
-La Serena: El día Lunes 1 de Marzo desde las 11 hrs en la plaza Buenos Aires se estarán recaudando alimentos y ropa. No sabemos hasta qué hora, mientras antes vayan, mejor. (Infomación recibida por un lector, favor confirmar).
-Copiapó: Llevar aportes el Lunes 1 desde las 16:00 hrs a Chacabuco 780 (entre Infante y Portales).
-5ta región: Se recibirán especies el Lunes 1 de Marzo desdelas 9 am en la Casa Central de la PUCV. Reciben pañales, frazadas, alimentos, art. aseo, etc.!.
-Puerto Montt: Se recibirá leche, agua y pañales.. hay que ir a dejarlos a las escuela 6 (Escuela España) a partir del día Lunes 1 de Marzo. El día MIERCOLES serán llevados en un avión hércules de la fuerza aérea hacia Concepción.

VOLUNTARIADO:
-Un Techo para Chile – Santiago: Mañana Martes 2 se realizará una nueva jornada con voluntarios a las 8am, es importante llegar puntual. Se asignarán tareas como reconocimiento de daños o reemplazo de semáforos. Deben llevar ropa de trabajo, tarjeta bip y almuerzo. La cita es nuevamente en el Colegio San Ignacio de Alonso Ovalle (Alonso Ovalle 1452, entrada por la cuadra de atrás, en calle Vidaurre), Metro Moneda, a las 8:00 am. Cuando tengamos info de reuniones en regiones avisaremos, mantente atento a éste posteo. Pueden inscribirse como voluntarios para viajar al sur en www.untechoparachile.cl y en los fonos: 8387360 / 8387304 / 8387355. Hay que tener paciencia, el sistema está muy colapsado.
Ayuda a Fundación Las Rosas – Santiago: Un grupo está coordinando visitas a 40 hogares de abuelos que necesitan ayuda. Más información favor de comunicarse al cel. 95330170 o al mail muevetechile@muevetechile.org. Pueden entregarse alimentos no perecederos en Rivera 2005, Independencia.

-Federación USACH – Santiago: Reunión de organización estudiantil para el Lunes 1 a las 11 am en la federación.
-Fech – Santiago: Quienes quieran ser voluntarios deben enviar sus datos a ayuda@fech.cl o llamar al 9771932. No pudimos confirmar, pero al parecer se reunirán voluntarios afuera de la oficina mañana Lunes a las 15 hrs.
-UDD – Santiago, Oriente: Están realizando una colecta de ropa, frazadas desde el 1 al 5 de Marzo, 10 am a 8 pm. Toda la ayuda de voluntarios es bien recibida. Universidad del Desarrollo de San Carlos de Apoquindo (Avenida La Plaza 680, Las Condes).
-Cruz Roja: La Cruz Roja desmintió la supuesta reunión de mañana de voluntariado, que menos mal no alcanzamos a publicar :) . Dicen que si están recibiendo inscripciones por email (juventud@cruzroja.cl y para mayores de 26, desarrollo@cruzroja.cl) para evaluar si se les llama o no, pero no es seguro, pues no les es posible movilizar voluntarios no especializados. PROFESIONALES:
Se ha creado el grupo de facebook “Profesionales voluntarios por Chile!! Ayudemos todos!!” http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=10150125316355393&ref=ts. Para dejar el ofrecimiento de voluntariado en la disciplina respectiva, en el foro de discusión. Nombre, algún teléfono y/o email. Profesión y experencia. Idealmente no dar datos muy sensibles (RUT ni dirección). Por favor NO COPIAR este grupo, es ideal que sea uno sólo para canalizar bien la ayuda.
-Salud: El Ministerio de Salud está solicitando voluntarios del AREA DE LA SALUD (profesionales, técnicos y estudiantes. Pedir información al número 600 360 77 77. -Psicólogos: Demasiado necesarios. El portal e-psicologia.cl está reclutando para ayudar a las víctimas del terremoto. http://e-psicologia.cl Se reciben psicólogos dentro de su ciudad o que puedan reubicarse. Si alguien puede escribir una guía de ayuda psicológica avíctimas del terremoto, la publicaremos felices. Por favor enviarla por email.
-Ingenieros: Se necesitan Ingenieros CALCULISTAS voluntarios, contactar a la Dirección de Arquitectura del MOP (Morandé 29 piso 9 – 4493624). Si algún ingeniero puede elaborar una guía básica para evaluar daños de casas (qué daños son normales y cuáles son peligrosos para saber si la casa ya no es segura y es necesario buscar ayuda), por favor enviar a todosporunmundomejor@gmail.com.
-Abogados: No sabemos si están pidiendo, para ayudar en demandas o temas de seguros u otros. Si alguien sabe algo por favor avisar.
DONACIONES DE SANGRE:
-El ministerio de Salud (Minsal) ha realizado un llamado a las personas que puedan donar sangre, para hacer frente a la gran cantidad de personas heridas. Se hace incapié en los donantes con sangre 0 RH negativo, muy escasa.
-Valparaíso: Centro de Sangre de Valparaíso, Las Cuevas 965 Subida del Litre, Valparaíso.
-San Fernando: Banco de Sangre Hospital de San Fernando, en Negrete 1401
-Talca: Centro de Diagnóstico Terapéutico, ubicado al Costado del hospital Regional de Talca
-Puerto Montt: Escuela Nº 6 de Puerto Montt, frente a la Plaza de Armas.
-Región Metropolitana, Centro de Sangre Metropolitano, Avda. Vitacura (Ex Hospital Militar) y en la Posta Central (Portugal 125, Metro U.Católica). A las 14 hrs se nos informó que estaba colapsado, con largos tiempos de espera.
-Algunos requisitos para donar sangre: 18 a 65 años – No haber tenido hepatitis, ni tener sida o diabetes – No tener enfermedades renales, pulmonares ni cardiacas – Pesar más de 50 kilos – No haber donado hace menos de 3 meses – No utilizar drogas – Tener pareja sexual estable.
Para quienes quieran donar sangre estos puntos atenderán de 09:00 a 17:00 Hrs. En otras ciudades del país se puede donar en los bancos de sangre de los hospitales respectivos.
AYUDA DE BUSQUEDA:
-Las personas que vivan en lugares afectados y que estén bien, por favor revisen los foros de internet, en que miles de personas preguntan por sus familiares y amigos desaparecidos. Podrían ayudar en la búsqueda, haciendo listas y yendo a refugios masivos a preguntar, registrando personas y revisando si están en la lista de desaparecidos de google (http://chilepersonfinder.appspot.com/?lang=es), o yendo a las direcciones de casas que entregan las personas en sus anuncios. When I saw the image of a headless man on the flyer of the multi-media exhibition 'WHITE SNUFF' which Adam Nankervis is curating at Ackerkelle in Berlin, I remembered a number of things.
Firstly I remembered the time when Adam and I were in the centre of Rome in 2005. While waiting for a bus to take us to the home of Adam's friends Filippo Ceccarelli and Elena Polidori at Trastevere, we wandered into a church whose inner facade was covered with fragments of ancient marble sculpture like a large 3-dimensional collage in stone. We entered the church and saw, in a side chapel, a glass altar in which was stored the decapitated head of St. John the Baptist. There was no explanation of how the head of John the Baptist got there. From the palace of Herod Antipas in Judea to the side chapel in Rome is a long journey by any standard, possible only by means of a miraculous route through space and time.
The head of John the Baptist was the prize Salome demanded from King Herod after she performed her Dance of the Seven Veils. In the 19th century writers and artists were obsessed by the story of Salome and John the Baptist. The interest hovered between necrophilia and destructive eroticism.
Gustave Moreau depicted Salome in jewel-like encrustations of paint. Maud Allan was celebrated for her Dance of the Seven Veils.
Stephane Mallarme and Oscar Wilde were two writers who wrote about Salome. Mallarme's monologue expressed in exquisite symbolist poetry the frustration and the erotic longing Salome felt for the wild saint who baptised Jesus Christ (the Messiah) in the river Jordan. The scene of that baptism, as depicted in Piero della Francesca's painting (now in the National Gallery in London), was the inspiration for a performance entitled 'Four Aces' which I gave (with the participation of twelve handsome young men) at the Swiss Institute in New York City, curated by Mathieu Copeland for 'Peforma 7' in 2007.
Oscar Wilde's 'Salome' was transformed into a great opera by Richard Strauss.
Of the many depictions of the decapitated John the Baptist the most powerful is the painting by Caravaggio.
After seeing the head of St. John the Baptist I remembered the first (and only) time I saw a severed head. It was a shrunken head on a wooden pike stuck into the ground on a promontory (the boundary between the Ifugao and Igorot tribes) above the magnificent rice terraces of the Mountain Province of the Philippines. That was in 1951, probably the last time when the mountain tribes of the Philippines practised head-hunting as part of their tribal rituals and wars. I was ten years old, a student from the lowlands, at St. Mary's School, a school ran by Episcopalian missionaries, in the town of Sagada near Bontoc. The mountain tribes of Luzon island subsequently converted into oppositing kinds of Christianity: Roman Catholicism, preached mainly by Belgian fathers, and different branches of Protestantism, preached by various sects, mainly American in origins. The Episcopalians who ran St. Mary's School in Sagada came from New England.
When I first arrived in Paris in the spring of 1960, I visited the Cathedral of Notre Dame. I was surprised to find one of the sculptures at the entrance to the cathedral was a headless man who carried his had in his hand. I found out later that the headless man was Saint Denis, one of the two patron saints of Paris. The other was Saint Genevieve. I thought how strange: to be walking around, carriying one's head in one's hand. Chopping the heads of kings and queens and of criminals has long been in the DNA of the French.
A few years later my friend Christian Ledoux told me that his friend Philipp Garrell has made a film entitled 'Acephale' ('Headless'). I have not yet seen the film, which has long been a part of the classics of French underground cinema of the 60s. I will ask Hermine Demoriane (who is also a friend of Philipp Garrell) to tell me what 'Acephale' is about. Perhaps she can help me find a DVD copy of the film.
Hermine Demoriane runs the Chateau de Sacy in Picardie, France. Adam Nankervis will become an artist in residence there in the summer of this year 2010. I wonder if Adam will carry some remnant of the "White Snuff" show he is curating in Berlin to Chateau de Sacy in France. Or will the headless naked man on the flyer of the Berlin show accompany Adam to France. I wonder. Dans le monde d'art et de la poesie, toute est possible.

GLOW manifests from a winters hearth of cinematic program and ambient
installation in Berlin, to a new program exploring the rite of Spring's
luminescence and life.

In this latest incarnation of GLOW, curators Adam Nankervis, Gillian Morris
and founder and initiator of GLOW, Leo Kuelbs invite video and new media
artists to respond in both narrative form and ambient installation dialogues
in form of radiant bursts found within the GLOW.

Hedonism, transcendence, utopias (lost and found), idylls and euphoria(s)
explored.

Sunbursts in Arcadian passages, GLOW will again represent short dialogue
driven videos in a traditional cinema-going experience, edited into a
program following the success of the first presentation of GLOW in January
2010 and the installation of video/new media work throughout Z-Bar, Berlin.

Submissions for narrative should exceed no longer than 5-7 mins.

Submissions should be to one of the three curators by March 8th, 2010.

Installation and ambient works will share three monitors throughout Z-Bar on
three separate loops unless a work demands its own requited loop.

GLOW curators are pleased to announce that the large attendance of the GLOW
manifest in January was attended over the course of the evening by over 200
visitors and has generated much excitement.

GLOW will be presented on Berlin Gallery Weekend in Mitte, central Berlin,

"David Medalla is a pioneer of land art, kinetic art, participatory art and live art. He was born in 1942 in Manila, Philippines. At the age of 12 Medalla was admitted as a special student at Colombia University in New York upon the recommendation of american poet Mark van Doren. Medalla's tutor at Colombia was Professor Moses Hadas under whom he studied ancient greek drama. Medalla also attended the lectures on modern drama by Eric Bentley, modern literature by Lionel Trilling, modern philosophy by John Randall and the poetry workshop by Leonie Adams. In New York City David met the american actor James Dean and the filipino poet José Garcia Villa who encouraged Medalla's early interest in painting.

When he returned to Manila in the late fifties, he met Jaime Gil de Biedma (the catalan poet) and the painter Fernando Zobel de Ayala, who became the earliest patrons of Medalla's art. In Paris in 1960, the French philosopher Gaston Bachelard introduced David's first performance in France at the Academy of Raymond Duncan, the brother of the great american dancer Isadora Duncan. Years later in Paris, the French poet Louis Aragon (co-founder of surrealism with André Breton) introduced another performance by Medalla and hailed the filipino artist as a genius. Marcel Duchamp made a medallic object for David.

From 1964 -1966 Medalla edited SIGNALS newsbulletin in London. In 1967 he initiated the Exploding Galaxy, an international confluence of multi-media artists. From 1974 - 1977 he was chairman of Artists for Democracy and director of the Fitzrovia Cultural Centre in London. In 1994 he founded the Mondrian Fan Club in New York with Adam Nankervis as vice-president, in 2000 the London Biennale, the idea for which occured to him while he was on a boat en route to Robben Island, off Cape Town, South Africa, during the 2. Johannesburg Biennale in 1998. David Medalla has given numerous exhibitions in many parts of the world. He was included by Harald Szeemann in the exhibitions Weiss auf Weiss (1966) and Live in Your Head: When Attitudes Become Form (1969) (both at the Kunsthalle in Bern) and in the DOCUMENTA 5 exhibition in 1972 in Kassel.

Among solo and group shows David Medalla participated in are: Travels II curated by Chris Dercon at the Clocktower Gallery in N.Y.; Art Lifts Berlin (1998) curated by Friedrich Meschede at the DAAD Galerie in Berlin (when David was in the Berliner Künstlerprogramm); Pinaglabanan in Manila; Micropolitquess curated by Paul Ardenne at Le Magasin in Grenoble, France; Fluxattitudes at the New Museum of Contemporary Art in N.Y.; The Other Story (1989) curated by Rasheed Araeen at the Hayward Gallery, London; Perfotijd (1984) curated by Wink van Kempen at the Theatre de Lantaren in Rotterdam; Live in your Head (2000) at the Whitechapel Gallery, London and the Museo de Chiado in Lisbon; L'Informe (1996/97) curated by Yves-Alain Bois and Rosalind Krauss at the Centre Pompidou, Paris; Transforming the Crown (1998) at the Haarlem Studio Museum, N.Y.; Live/Life (1996/97) curated by Hans-Ulrich Obrist at the musée d'art moderne de la ville de Paris and at the Centro Cultural do Belem, Lisbon; A Quality of Light (1997) at Tate St.Ives, Cornwall; Century City (2001) at the Tate Modern, London; Out of Actions (1998) at the Los Angeles Museum of Contemporary Art and MAK in Vienna and Tokio; 2nd Johannesburg Biennale (1998), South Africa; Force Fields (2000) curated by Guy Brett at the Hayward Gallery in London; etcetera...

David Medalla has been a lecturer at the Slade School of Art, University College London, St.Martins School of Art, Chelsea School of Art, Goldsmiths College of Art, the University of Southhampton. In 1989 he gave a series of lectures on global cultures at MOMA, the Museum of Moderm Art of N.Y. He has also lectured at the University of Hawaii in Manva, Cooper Union in N.Y., the Universities of Amsterdam and Utrecht, the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Bruxelles, the Fundacion Tapies in Barcelona, the Sorbonne in Paris, the British School in Rome and many otherschools, universities and colleges all over the world."

Reliquaries of Empires Dust is an exhibition exploring trends in art and artists response to the current global climate.
Whether an exploration in environmental,geopolitical,monetary,cultural,societal shifts,or in paradigms of utopias lost and found,the exhibition is building as three nucleii of repositaries of pasts,present and future with an organic structure where artists contributions are building networks of capsules,vitrines and mounted displays of works in keeping with the exhibition ethos of Museum MAN within the gallery space of Bereznitsky Gallery Berlin.
International artists and Berlin artists alike have been invited to work within the space of the Bereznitsky GalleryHeiderstrasse 73 Berlin Germany

The space is 500 sq metres in breadth,with an outdoor area for installation of a large loading bay terrace and 200 sq metre garden area in the heart of Berlin's gallery and museum area,opposite the new Berlin Hauptbanhoff (the largest station in Europe) and next door to the contempoarary art centre Hamburger Bahnoff.

The gallery is open from 2pm 14.00hrs each day for artists to come work on site as this organic installation will continue to evolve up to and during the time of the Berlin Gallery weekend and till the exhibition's closing May 30 2009.

Reliquaries of Empires Dust is a response to an accelerating age of information with palpable cause and effect, wherein lies an increasing speedway of news and heightened coverage of issues of crippling magnitude, wherein lay the collapse of global circuits, from wars, monetary, social and environmental mono-systems, multi-systems, ecosystems and the redefining of lines of geopolitics. All intrinsically linked, this has become a viral down turn-on the brink of collapse and reinvention. A penultimate new order coalescing like a clot during this, the system of a down, and a time of macro introspection and the need for reinvention of archaen networks now failed.The blurprint of the circus is over. The phoenix is stirring.

Continuing to June 19 2009 Museum MAN's participation was cancelled and only initially consented to by request and following failure of Marianne Wagner Simon The exhibition was foreclosed due to internal staff problems but the space on Heiderstr. no longer the Bereznitsky Gallery opened for the party Marianne Wagner Simon had arranged on the premises on June 19 2009 without the participation of Museum MAN or its participating artists.

My apologies to all artists who may have thought or been told by Marianne Wagner Simon that the Museum MAN exhibition was still installed on/in illegally trespassed property.

The exhibition ended June 16 2009 whilst still the Bereznitsky Gallery.

Reliquienschreine vom Staub der Imperien - ist eine Antwort auf eine beschleunigte Zeit aus Informationen deren offensichtliche Ursachen und Wirkungen durch die Erhöhung der Geschwindigkeit des Nachrichtenflusses gefüttert werden. Sie ist geprägt durch Ereignisse von lähmenden Ausmaßen – in deren Zentrum der Zusammenbruch der globalen Kreisläufe von Währungs- und Sozialsystemen, des gesamten Umweltsystems, der Monosysteme, Multisysteme, Ökosysteme und der Handlungslinien der Geopolitik steht. Ihre unmittelbare Verbundenheit führt zu einem virulenten stetigen Kurz-vor-dem-Aus-Stehen und einer permanenten Neuinfizierung.

Eine vorerst letzte Neuordnung entsteht, die sich während dessen zu einem Gerinnsel vereint hat, einem System-of-a-down, einer Zeit der Makro-Introspektion und des Bedürfnisses der Wiedererschaffung archaischer Netzwerke, die bisher gescheitert sind. Der Phönix ist in Bewegung.

Durch die Eröffnung während des Gallery Weekends in Berlin vom

1. – 3. Mai 2009 erreicht die Ausstellung ein große kunstinteressierte Öffentlichkeit und Medienpräsenz gleichermaßen.

Künstlerinnen und Künstler aus Berlin, London, New York, Australien und weltweit wurden aufgefordert, ihre Antworten zu dieser Thematik zu offenbaren, formal als Kapseln, die sich umhüllend oder ausgeschüttet innerhalb der Ausstellung des MAN-Museum befindet in der GALERIE BEREZNITSKY in Berlin unter der Schirmherrschaft und Einladung von Evgeni Bereznitsky.

Opening 1. – 3. Mai 2009.

Video-Screenings und Performances während des gesamten Wochenendes und weitere Veranstaltungen während der gesamten Dauer der Ausstellung unter Beteiligung der ausstellenden Künstler.

GLOW berlin

GLOW will be screened in a sanctum, a gathering of luminous warmth in the intimacy of a 35 seat cinema, in which a unique program will be staged.
It will be a screening of an exploration of a discourse of narrative within new digital media within the framework of public cinema going tradition. A seductive folly, an entertainment, a contemplation, an elevation, an aesthetic satiation, a grouping within the hearth of GLOW.

GLOW is a collaboration of curators Adam Nankervis,Gillian Morris,and the initiator of the GLOW Leo Kuelbs.

Drawing from both archival and newly made work of artists based in Berlin and drawn by invitation from the international arena, GLOW will explore the notion of narrative of films and videos of seven to ten minutes duration that explore work of the disruptive,the familar,the alien,the seductive,the blurred arena of "narrative manipulation",on two screens at Z BAR Berlin January 23 2010.

Postcards From the Edge is a Visual AIDS benefit show and sale of original, postcard-sized works on paper by established and emerging artists. All works are sold on a first-come, first-served basis. The works are signed on the back and exhibited so the artists' signatures cannot be seen. While buyers receive a list of all participating artists, they don't know who created which piece until purchased. All proceeds support the work of Visual AIDS.

Visual AIDS utilizes art to fight AIDS by provoking dialogue, supporting HIV+ artists, and preserving the legacy -- because AIDS IS NOT OVER!
